Neighboring Sounds

A private security firm installs cameras and watchtowers in a quiet, middle-class Recife neighborhood. Under the guise of protection from burglars, the guards infiltrate the residents' daily lives, becoming invisible observers. Their presence disrupts the area's fragile peace, exposing hidden fears, class tensions, and a paranoia that slowly erodes trust between neighbors. Sounds—from barking dogs to distant gunshots—create an uneasy soundtrack, hinting at violence that is always nearby, even behind high walls.
