Das Wunder von Kapstadt

Lisa Scheel, a determined young surgeon, confronts the impenetrable fortress of a male-dominated medical establishment in Frankfurt. Her ambitions in transplant surgery are dashed when her professor chooses a male applicant over her. In a moment of defiant resolve, she departs for Cape Town, joining the pioneering team of Dr. Barnard, who is racing to perform the world's first heart transplant. There, she becomes a crucial contributor to the historic operation, forming an unlikely partnership with the gifted surgeon Hamilton Naki, whose brilliance is forced into secrecy by the brutal laws of apartheid.
