Kalev

Kallev, an Estonian peasant, returns from war to his native village, only to find ruins and fallow fields. Soviet power is methodically erasing all traces of the former life, forcing the locals to choose between submission and resistance. In this new reality, where every day is a struggle for survival and dignity, Kallev faces an unbearable choice that will determine the fate of not only his family but his very soul. The film explores the fragility of the human spirit against the backdrop of history's steamroller, grinding down the fates of ordinary people.
