🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Haile Gerima constructs a narrative of relentless social immersion, relying on a gritty, documentary-like realism to explore the mechanisms of oppression. The film builds its power through accumulation, charting a psychological transformation with devastating clarity.

What lingers after the final frame is a profound understanding of radicalization not as choice, but as a forced response. A challenging, essential work. — MovieFinder Editorial
