Masaya, a university student, drifts through gloomy days at a school he never wanted to attend. His monotonous existence is shattered by a letter from Haimura, a convicted serial killer on death row for nine murders. The killer confesses to eight but vehemently denies the ninth. Years ago, Masaya was a middle-school student and a regular customer at Haimura's bakery. This forgotten connection pulls the young man into an investigation of the final case, forcing him to sift through a past where the warmth of a bakery conceals chilling secrets.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film expertly walks the line between a detective thriller and an intimate character drama, where the central crime is solved not through forensics but through a deep psychological excavation of two entangled lives. It trades car chases for a slow, deliberate convergence with a haunting truth.
What lingers after the credits is not a clever twist, but a profound unease about guilt, memory, and the fragile stories we tell ourselves to survive. The taste it leaves is complex and deeply contemplative. — MovieFinder Editorial

The oppressive silence of a death row cell, starkly contrasted with the muted, warm hues of a bakery's memory.
