A Congolese immigrant chef working at a Belgian fast-food restaurant finds himself entangled in a criminal network when his culinary talents catch the eye of a local crime lord. Under the guise of preparing chicken and fries, he becomes a linchpin in a money-laundering operation. Daily balancing his legitimate kitchen duties with underground dealings, the protagonist discovers the scent of frying oil masks not only crimes but his own fading identity.
