The Moment of Truth

Miguel, a destitute young man in Franco's Spain, seizes bullfighting as his only escape from hunger and obscurity. The arena transforms into a brutal school of life, where each encounter with the bull is a tense dance between glory and annihilation. The camera trails him not only onto the sand of the plaza but into squalid backstage rooms and along dusty roads with a wandering troupe of toreros. The film dissects the price a man pays when he trades his courage and dignity for survival in a society indifferent to his fate.
