🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Kinga Duiа constructs a narrative on the contrast between personal dreams and the political reality of 1980s Poland. He explores a family chronicle where the country's history becomes a backdrop for intimate dramas, relying on the car as a symbol of illusory freedom and new opportunities.
What lingers after viewing is a delicate blend of nostalgia and bitter irony, where comedic situations expose the absurdity of everyday life under socialism. The film leaves a warm yet aching affection for these small people in a grand historical sweep. — MovieFinder Editorial
