A pompous archaeology professor, consumed by his quest to find the definitive proof of the "missing link," leads a ragtag expedition into uncharted wilderness. Accompanied by a bumbling assistant and a perpetually terrified porter, he expects to encounter a primordial ancestor. Instead, he stumbles upon a troupe of clever con artists masquerading as a tribe of "half-apes." What follows is a whirlwind of mistaken identity, slapstick chases through the undergrowth, and increasingly ridiculous attempts at "civilized" negotiation, where the professor's pride becomes the ultimate artifact up for grabs.
