When bar owner Viviani receives threats and then vanishes, amateur detective Massimo and his friends must take up another investigation. Suspicion falls on new residents of the seaside town as the crew of retirees and bartenders tries to untangle a web of old grudges and fresh secrets. The investigation unfolds between shots of espresso and card games, with every resident of Pineta seemingly harboring a motive.
