Four poor children have been abandoned because their father, who is out of work, steals cattle to feed them and the police have arrested him. The story takes up the children's point of view and is structured in four episodes that describe their inevitable descent into the world of marginality and crime. 🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Director Aldo Francia constructs the narrative as a series of harsh, quasi-documentary sketches, relying on real events. His camera does not judge but explores the mechanisms of social alienation, presenting the world through the eyes of children stripped of agency.

What lingers after viewing is a grim but vital awareness of the cost of social inequality. The film does not entertain but compels us to see and remember those whom society chooses to overlook. — MovieFinder Editorial
