Newspaper reporter Eiji Akutsu digs into a thirty-year-old cold case involving a shadowy group that extorted corporations using cassette tapes. His investigation stumbles upon a mysterious recording. Meanwhile, in Kyoto, tailor Toshiya Sone discovers a tape among his late father's belongings and is shocked to hear his own childhood voice on it. These two disparate threads gradually intertwine, pulling back the curtain on a dark connection between seemingly unrelated lives and a long-buried crime whose echoes refuse to fade.
