Marcelo uses the money to promote a party in the Carnival of Recife pretending to be the son of the owner of the Gol (a Brazilian air flight company). He lures the high-society, including the television presenter Amaury Jr. Marcelo is arrested again and is sent to prison. 🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Director Tothia Meireles constructs a narrative like a reckless flight over an abyss, using the real scammer's biography to explore Brazil's stark social contrasts. The camera observes without judgment, tracing the alchemy of a desperate man transforming into a legend, relying on the energy of the northeastern carnival and the concrete chill of prison corridors.

What lingers after the credits is a provocative crime portrait where elite glamour is merely a backdrop for a universal game of status. The line between outlaw and respected citizen blurs unsettlingly. — MovieFinder Editorial
