Kit Kat
Sheikh Hosny, a blind old man, stubbornly denies his infirmity, dreaming of a motorcycle and a freedom his darkness cannot afford. He lives in the Kit Kat neighborhood with his aging mother and his son Youssef, whose own dreams are fixed on Europe while his heart belongs to Fatima, a divorced woman. Nights find the Sheikh smoking hashish with locals, a futile attempt to numb the grief for his lost wife and the sold family home. Their stubbornness and clashing ambitions weave a bittersweet comedy of deferred lives.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film masterfully treads the line between tragedy and farce, where every personal failure reveals a layer of universal, aching comedy. The director's gaze is compassionate, finding dignity in his characters' flawed, stubborn humanity.
What lingers after the screen fades is a poignant mix of melancholy and warmth for these resilient, broken souls. Their cramped neighborhood becomes a powerful metaphor for the traps we build and inhabit. — MovieFinder Editorial
