Guiexhuba
Guiexhuba, a young woman from a remote settlement, discovers her body slowly transforming into the roots of an ancient tree at the village's heart. This process, called the 'Returning' by the elders, is both a blessing and a curse, tethering her fate to the spirit of the land. As her skin patterns with bark and her fingers reach for the soil, Guiexhuba must decide whether to embrace her destiny as a guardian or find a way to break the centuries-old cycle, risking the fragile balance that sustains her people. Her internal conflict unfolds amidst rituals and the quiet resistance of those who question the old ways.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film offers a meditative and visually hypnotic plunge into mythology, where personal autonomy clashes with collective destiny. Its power lies in silence, in frames filled with the textures of nature and the protagonist's silent questioning.
What lingers after viewing is a slow-burning parable about belonging and the cost of preserving tradition. The experience leaves a residue of something ancient and melancholically beautiful — MovieFinder Editorial

Magic realism steeped in the scent of damp soil and the whisper of leaves. Time feels viscous, almost tangible.
