🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Marguerite Duras constructs a haunting atmosphere not through plot, but through the tension in sparse dialogue and prolonged, searching gazes. She relies on the minimalist setting to lay bare the existential dread and unspoken desires simmering between the characters.
What lingers after the final frame is the sensation of a waking dream, where emotion eclipses event, and the surrounding forest becomes a labyrinth for the psyche. — MovieFinder Editorial
