The Vinland Club

Brother Jean, a teacher at a boys' college in 1940s eastern Quebec, defies rigid educational norms. He captivates his students not with rote lessons, but with hands-on archaeological digs along the St. Lawrence shore, driven by a quest to prove the existence of a Viking settlement—Vinland. His unconventional pedagogy draws the ire of his congregation's superiors, yet through this shared passion, he profoundly alters the trajectories of his pupils. This is especially true for young Émile, a struggling student on the verge of abandoning his studies for factory work.
