The Seventh Master of the House

1966 · 12 min Animation Family
6.8 / 10 · TMDB

Not until four years after The Fox's Widow was the third fairytale movie, The Seventh Master of the House, released – Caprino's personal favourite. This is a wonderful fairytale and a sharp satire on everyday bureaucracy. Caprino knew all about that – in fact, you might say that the movie was an indirect stab at the bureaucrats who had considered all his funding applications.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Caprino constructs the narrative as a chain of comical yet familiar bureaucratic trials, relying on puppet animation to amplify the satirical edge. The film explores the timeless clash of the little person against a soulless system, but wraps it in the gentle guise of a fairy tale.

What lingers after viewing is a witty, kind-hearted tale where magic triumphs over red tape, leaving a warm sense of hope. — MovieFinder Editorial
