Max Ophüls - Den schönen guten Waren

1990 · 90 min Documentary

Employees remember the director Max Ophüls, who was forced to emigrate in 1933 - his fifth film "Liebelei" was a great success in cinemas. After an odyssey through France, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA, he returned to work in France and Germany in the 1950s. The film commemorates Ophüls, who died in 1957 at the age of 54, and uses a series of film examples to demonstrate his special way of directing.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Max Ophüls - Den schönen guten Waren is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A classic from 1990. They don't make them like this anymore — which is exactly why you should watch it. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
