Marie, the Doll
Marie, who was orphaned as a young girl, has a case of arrested development that makes her act younger than her age. One day she stops to look in a store window displaying various ornate dolls. Claude, the affluent, eccentric store owner, sees her and becomes infatuated which leads to her and him meeting and deciding to go and take a look at Claude personal doll collection at his house. 🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film constructs a disquieting mood by contrasting Marie's fragile innocence with Claude's cold, curated obsession. It relies on the potent visual metaphor of the doll to explore themes of possession, control, and the erosion of self within a relationship.
What lingers after the final frame is a profound sense of unease about the cages built from desire and the cost of sanctuary. The quiet horror of objectification unfolds with chilling precision. — MovieFinder Editorial

Late at night, in solitude, to fully absorb the film's unsettling and claustrophobic psychological tension.
