Hong Kong: Retrocession Generation

A generation of Hong Kong youth, born after the 1997 handover, navigates an identity crisis under Beijing's tightening grip. The film captures their political awakening on the twentieth anniversary of the transfer from British to Chinese rule. More vocal and organized than their predecessors, these young activists reject assimilation, viewing themselves as Hong Kongers first. Their struggle unfolds on two fronts: resisting the authoritarian reach of mainland China and confronting local oligarchs aligned with its power.
