Li Cheng, a Shanghai architect, receives a call from his hometown: his father, whom he hasn't spoken to in ten years, is seriously ill. Instead of the expected reconciliation, he finds the old man obsessed with a peculiar project—to build a bridge across the dried-up river that separates their house from an abandoned school. 'You always thought my ideas were foolish,' the father says, not looking at his son. This journey becomes a painful clash of two worlds: Li Cheng's urban efficiency versus his father's stubborn, almost mythical attachment to land the son long ago ceased to call his own. The film explores the silence between words, the weight of the unspoken, and the fragile bridges we try to build when time is nearly gone.
