The film traces his meteoric rise from early gigs at Rio's Circo Voador with Barão Vermelho to solo stardom, a whirlwind of creative triumphs, turbulent bonds with family, friends, and lovers. Inspired by his mother's memoir, it captures not only the apotheosis of his performances but also the private battle he waged after an HIV diagnosis, revealing raw courage in his final years until his death in 1990.
