Sweet Dreams

Michele, a filmmaker paralyzed by creative block, relentlessly critiques the film industry and its inhabitants. His primary target is a Neapolitan director producing a musical about the 1968 student demonstrations. As Michele fruitlessly struggles to complete his own film, "Freud's Mother," he descends into a spiral of self-inquiry about art, political ennui, and the eternal complexities of sons' relationships with their mothers. His internal rants and absurd clashes with the cinematic world paint a vivid portrait of an artist in a state of perpetual irritation and searching.
