Vizontele

A television set arrives in the remote Turkish town of Hakkari in the early 1970s, an event the locals dub 'Vizontele.' This single piece of technology upends the sleepy province's entire existence. The mayor, eager for progress, and his makeshift crew face a cascade of absurd challenges—from scrounging for electricity to explaining the very concept of broadcasting to bewildered villagers. The TV becomes a focal point of wonder, a shrine to modernity, and the root of glorious misunderstandings, slowly unraveling social traditions, reshaping relationships, and cracking open a window to a world beyond their mountains.
