The film constructs its unique tone by contrasting a grim serial killer plot with the farcical investigative methods of its two leads. It relies on grotesque irony to explore how personal ambition can distort even the most serious of pursuits.
Those who tire of conventional thrillers will find an odd-couple dynamic that generates tension from clashing incompetence rather than procedural prowess. What lingers after the credits is a sharp satire of vanity and amateur sleuthing. — MovieFinder Editorial
