People at the Beach

1960 · 12 min Documentary

"...it had no plot. The film was more a study of people's behavior, shot in 16mm with a hand-held camera, which was hidden most of the time. In its execution it was like my New York film 58-59, except that it was filmed in sunlight almost the whole time, on a public beach, and in the cafes nearby. There was no spoken commentary, only the actual sounds and typical Cuban jukebox music." - Nestor Almendros, A Man With a Camera

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

People at the Beach is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A classic from 1960. They don't make them like this anymore — which is exactly why you should watch it. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
