Intermittences non régulées de Etienne-Jules Marey

1978 · 14 min

The invention of the cinematograph by Louis and Auguste Lumière in 1895 marked the culmination - synthesis, standardisation and industrialisation - of various research carried out in previous years on the decomposition and illusion of movement through a series of fixed shots (Demenÿ, Reynaud, Muybridge, Londe, Marey...). These images are now being reworked by the generation of "post-structuralist" filmmakers, for whom the magic of the device lies in the articulation of two images, which in no way are neutral.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Intermittences non régulées de Etienne-Jules Marey is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A classic from 1978. They don't make them like this anymore — which is exactly why you should watch it. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
