Mignon Has Left
Fifteen-year-old Mignon, her father on trial in Paris, is sent to stay with her Italian relatives. The prim, somewhat snooty teenager initially clashes with the earthy Forbicioni family, each member wrapped in their own personal dramas. Yet, an unexpected bond forms with her lovestruck younger cousin, Giorgio. Their shared summer becomes a gentle, formative chapter for the boy, a time of first lessons about life, growing up, and the complexities of the heart.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Francesca Archibugi's film is a delicate, warm-hearted sketch of adolescence, where the off-screen drama of a father's trial gives way to the quiet revolution in a teenager's soul. It favors subtle observation over grand passion, tracing how an unfamiliar environment and genuine affection can reshape a person.
What lingers after the credits is a summer fable where comedy springs from cultural friction and drama from quiet understanding. It's a film that leaves a bittersweet taste for lost innocence and gratitude for those who guide us into adulthood. — MovieFinder Editorial
