MAL·MO·E: The Secret Mission

Pan-seok, a Korean prisoner fluent in Japanese, receives an unexpected offer from his jailer — to compile a Korean-Japanese dictionary for the colonial authorities. Instead of blind servitude, he sees a chance to save his native tongue from eradication. Joined by an independence activist, they begin a clandestine project under the guise of official work: creating the first genuine Korean language dictionary. Their small circle risks freedom and life, gathering words fragment by fragment, while the Japanese Empire systematically erases Korean identity.
