Night and Fog

Lam Hung, a young mother from mainland China, navigates the claustrophobic existence of a Tin Shui Wai housing estate with her unemployed husband. Her world shrinks to the dimensions of their cramped flat, defined by the care of her two daughters and the exhausting ritual of placating a spouse whose jealousy festers into quiet menace. Financial strain and social isolation weave a tight net around her, making every ordinary action a potential trigger. Within the bland, repetitive architecture of public housing, a private torment unfolds, building with a dreadful, inevitable pressure toward rupture.
