🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Mario Monicelli constructs a political farce from real events, relying on absurdity and grotesque to dissect the mechanics of power. He explores the fine line between fanaticism and buffoonery through Ugo Tognazzi's brilliant performance.

Those who tire of straightforward narratives will find a sharp, timeless satire on how the struggle for power devolves into pure circus. What lingers after the credits is a wry smile at history's repetitions. — MovieFinder Editorial
