Philosopher Bruno is battling a stubborn writer's block in the remote silence of Lapland when a golden envelope arrives: an invitation to the President's Independence Day Gala in Helsinki. With railway lines frozen solid and the last plane departed without him, his dream seems lost. Salvation comes in the form of Jallu, a pragmatic Laplander who offers to drive the distressed thinker the entire 1200 kilometers south. Their impromptu road trip across Finland's winter landscape transforms from a simple commute into a profound, often comedic, clash of cultures and perspectives.
