🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film constructs a layered allegory, relying on the Oedipus myth and the spirit of the Beat Generation to explore the psychic landscape of a lost identity. The road becomes a conduit not for travel, but for an irrational excavation of the self.
What lingers after viewing is a haunting, dreamlike residue—a sense of melancholy for origins that remain just out of frame, in a Portugal that feels both familiar and profoundly strange. — MovieFinder Editorial
