Excavator

A former paratrooper, now an excavator driver, unearths a human skull twenty years after his deployment to suppress the Gwangju Uprising. This grim discovery propels him on a harrowing pilgrimage through the corridors of a buried past. He seeks out his former superiors one by one, each encounter churning the murky waters of collective memory and personal culpability. As he navigates this landscape of guilt and denial, a painful truth emerges: in the machinery of that historical tragedy, the lines between perpetrator and victim were fatally blurred, leaving wounds that time has failed to heal.
