🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Director Ann-Marie Étienne constructs a narrative on the contrast between two worlds—a father in hiding and the family left behind. She explores not just the political past but its corrosive echo in personal bonds, working with silence and glances as powerfully as with dialogue.

What lingers after the final frame is a profound sense of unresolved history and the personal cost of political violence. The film leaves a quiet, lasting weight. — MovieFinder Editorial
