Harvard grad Bruce McVeagh has fled San Francisco for the South Seas, where he rules as a king on a remote island. 🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a stark parable of corrupted power, relying on the contrast between tropical paradise and human brutality. It explores the dark transformation of a civilized man into a tyrant, using the remote island as a pressure cooker for primal instincts.

What lingers after the final reel is a sobering question about the fragility of morality when absolute rule is seized. — MovieFinder Editorial
