Jochen - Ein Golzower aus Philadelphia

2002 · 119 min Documentary
7.0 / 10 · TMDB

About the son of an agricultural functionary who helped enforce the socialist order in Philadelphia in Brandenburg, then in Golzow (Oderbruch) and finally in Bernau near Berlin. Jochen therefore went to school in Golzow for only one year. He became a milker, was a border guard, married and lives with three children in Bernau. Just as disappointed with the GDR as he was with its fall, today he is even with all politics.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Jochen - Ein Golzower aus Philadelphia is a solid entry rated 7.0/10. Not a masterpiece, but quality work that won't leave you disappointed.

A high rating speaks for itself — this film found its audience and didn't let them down. Trust the collective taste.

A 2002 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: viewers looking to try something new without being too demanding.
