🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a classic tale of ambition gone awry, relying on the popular 'experiment unleashed' trope of the monster movie era. It explores the contrast between claustrophobic lab scenes and the modestly staged, yet ambitious, citywide rampage.

What lingers after the viewing is a charmingly dated spectacle of puppet mayhem and practical effects, a nostalgic reminder of pre-CGI creature features. It's a straightforward blend of sci-fi and horror that wears its B-movie heart on its sleeve. — MovieFinder Editorial
