A Brief History of Surrealism

2003 · 13 min

André Breton, the great leader of the surrealist revolution, is still alive and he is in New York! Filmed with Almereyda's favourite Pixelvision camera (a children's camera that became popular among experimental film makers), the master demonstrates his power over dream and unconscious. A hypnotised cowboy predicts the war speech of Bush. Outside, a child blows bubbles.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

A Brief History of Surrealism is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2003 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
