🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a meticulous portrait of a young outsider navigating the rigid hierarchy of a girls' boarding school. It explores the painful acquisition of social wisdom, where authenticity is often a liability in the pursuit of acceptance.

What lingers after viewing is a poignant sense of the cost of conformity, rendered with period authenticity and a nuanced central performance. — MovieFinder Editorial
