Mikey, a young, discreet, gay man from the affluent class, spends five years in a city jail while hearing his case for drug pushing. Inside prison, Mikey holds back to adapt to the culture and stratification among inmates. Eventually, Mikey becomes a ‘Mayor’ (ring leader) to a group of gay inmates called “Gang-da”. Together, they thrive to survive the dangers of several gang riots, the mundane, and the decay of human dignity.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a tense drama by contrasting the protagonist's fragile individuality with the brutal prison system. It explores not just physical survival, but the search for identity and solidarity in an inhuman environment.

What lingers after viewing is a raw, yet unexpectedly lyrical, portrait of an alternative family forming where it seems impossible. The story leaves a weighty, essential aftertaste about the price of dignity. — MovieFinder Editorial
