🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs its intrigue by contrasting a refined social setting with the latent menace of a manipulative scientist. It relies on the visual metaphor of hypnosis as a loss of autonomy, employing early cinematic techniques to suggest psychological control.

What lingers after the final frame is a cautionary tale about trust and vulnerability disguised as scientific curiosity. A compact reminder of cinema's early fascination with the power of the mind. — MovieFinder Editorial
