64: Part 1

Yoshinobu Mikami, a former detective, is transferred to the public relations office. He is haunted by the shadow of an unsolved kidnapping and murder of a girl from 1989, known as 'Case 64'. His personal trauma—the disappearance of his own daughter—merges with professional strife: his relations with reporters are strained, and a rift is deepening within the police force between investigators and administrators. When a new, eerily similar kidnapping occurs and the statute of limitations for the old case is set to expire in a year, Mikami finds himself at the eye of a storm, where his role as a PR secretary becomes his only weapon in a final pursuit of justice.
