Backwood Madness

Leila, an anthropology student, arrives in a remote village to study local rites. The villagers mistake her for a long-awaited "chosen one" prophesied for centuries. Instead of interviewing folklore keepers, she becomes the center of an ancient ritual where the line between myth and reality blurs. The locals seem to know more about her than she does herself, and the surrounding forest operates by its own primal rules. To survive, Leila must not just believe in fairy tales but decipher which part of the legend is truth and which is a trap for the uninitiated. Her rational worldview collides with something primordial and inexplicable that existed here long before maps or scientific theories.
