🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Ali Ateş's film is a tender, poignant sketch of coming-of-age, where a religious ritual becomes a metaphor for a child's first true trial. The camera adores the landscapes and faces, and the naive yet resilient protagonist earns genuine affection.
What lingers after the credits is the atmosphere of the 1970s, where the simplicity of village life and childish innocence meet harsh reality. The result is a warm, slightly melancholic feeling and the realization that even the longest day must eventually end. — MovieFinder Editorial
