Janjan
Jana, a young woman from the countryside, arrives in Seoul to work in a garment factory. Her days are consumed by the monotonous rhythm of a sewing machine in a cramped workshop, her nights by sparse rest in a dormitory for female laborers. She becomes a cog in the invisible machinery of fast fashion, where human life is measured by stitch-per-minute. Her initial hope for a better future gradually dissolves into exhaustion, while her ties to home and family grow increasingly faint. The film meticulously examines the human cost of an economic miracle, hidden behind cheap price tags.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
"Janjan" is a quiet yet piercing portrait of alienation in the globalized age. The director foregoes grand statements, focusing instead on the details of worn hands, endless fabric rolls, and vacant stares during lunch breaks.
What lingers after the credits is not a plot resolution, but the palpable sensation of existing as a component in a vast, indifferent system. It’s a film that transforms the simple act of getting dressed into a moment of ethical contemplation. — MovieFinder Editorial

The muted light of the workshop, the hum of machines, a sense of confined space and a distant, unreachable city beyond.
