Johnnie To constructs a tense standoff within the confined space of a hospital floor, turning every corridor and ward into a stage for a cerebral and physical duel. The film relies on precise character dynamics and a relentlessly ticking real-time clock.
What lingers after the credits is the audacious, nearly ten-minute slow-motion shootout—a ballet of chaos and bullets that redefines the action set piece. It’s a masterclass in controlled escalation and stylistic bravura. — MovieFinder Editorial
