The Director Who Disappeared: The Story of The Ninja Mission

2013 · 58 min Documentary
7.0 / 10 · TMDB

Documentary about Swedish director, Mats Helge Olsson, an illiterate Swedish director most noted in his home country for debuting with the first "Lingonberry Western", DEAD MAN'S TRAIL, landing himself in debtors prison after producing Per Oscarsson's financial fiasco SWEDEN FOR THE SWEDES, creating the cheesy, low-budget, unlikely U.S. hit, NINJA MISSION, and then - before fading away into near total obscurity - following up on NINJA MISSION by simultaneously making three films (SILENT CHASE; FATAL SECRET; MAD BUNCH) with then-fading U.S. actor, David Carradine... who may not have known he was making more than one.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The Director Who Disappeared: The Story of The Ninja Mission is a solid entry rated 7.0/10. Not a masterpiece, but quality work that won't leave you disappointed.

A high rating speaks for itself — this film found its audience and didn't let them down. Trust the collective taste.

A 2013 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: viewers looking to try something new without being too demanding.
