Boy Interrupted

Fifteen-year-old Evan Perry stepped into the night from his New York City bedroom window. His filmmaker parents, Hart and Dana, pick up the camera to chronicle his brief life and protracted battle with bipolar disorder. Through intimate home archives, candid interviews with family and caregivers, the film maps the labyrinth of mental illness one family navigated. It becomes a journey through intergenerational trauma, a raw attempt to comprehend the incomprehensible, and a direct challenge to the stigma shrouding mental health and suicide.
